As a child, our family tradition was rooted in healthy eating and shared meals. We enjoyed traditional Lebanese dishes, and after dinner my mother would almost always prepare a large bowl of freshly peeled and chopped fruit for us all to share. It was her way of expressing love, care, and happiness, and it has remained a lasting and meaningful memory.
This painting represents more than just a bowl of fruit. It reflects the generous abundance of our planet, particularly the rich produce of warmer climates, where such fruits flourish. It is a celebration of colour, joy, health, and togetherness, suggested through the presence of shared plates, cut fruit, and forks around the composition.
Presented in a classic china bowl — something I often return to in my work — the piece sits within my wider visual language. The palette is vibrant yet softened and muted in tone, staying true to my style while evoking warmth, harmony, and quiet celebration.
